A thirteen-year-old male was pronounced deceased following a fatal gunshot wound sustained during an incident at a gas station in Pico Rivera. The initial report indicated the occurrence took place on Saturday, at approximately 11:45 p.m., located in the 8800 block of Whittier Boulevard. It was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department that the young individual did not survive the event. The identity of the child was formally recognized on Monday through official channels operated by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Preliminary investigations conducted by law enforcement officials suggest that the individual responsible absconded on foot from the scene of the incident. There is no evidence to indicate that the shooting was connected to any type of conflict or criminal activity such as theft. The incident is currently considered random by authorities.
