**Venancio Papalotzi-George dies in fatal Middlefield car crash**
Fatal Middlefield car crash death of Venancio Papalotzi-George
Venancio Papalotzi-George, a 46-year-old resident of Meriden, died as a result of injuries sustained in a head-on collision on the night of Friday.
State police confirmed that the accident occurred on Meriden Road, just after midnight. Papalotzi-George was driving a 2012 Honda Civic when it collided head-on with a 2009 Jeep Wrangler.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found two vehicles involved in the crash. The first responders noted significant damage to both cars, with one vehicle rolling over and catching fire in the engine compartment. Bystanders assisted by pulling the injured individual from the wreckage before transporting them to Hartford Hospital.
Officials have stated that the investigation into the crash is ongoing, and anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Trooper Connor Hourigan or Troop F in Westbrook.
