The El Paso Police Department confirmed that a 48-year-old man named Alejandro Rodriguez died early Sunday morning after being thrown from his motorcycle when it was struck from behind on I-10 in East El Paso.
The collision occurred at approximately 2:28 a.m. near the Don Haskins exit, close to Joe Battle Boulevard. Rodriguez was riding a 2024 Kawasaki Ninja and was hit by a 2024 Ford Mustang.
Rodriguez did not survive the injuries he received at the scene.
KFOX14/CBS4 is investigating whether the driver of the Ford Mustang involved in the incident will be charged.
According to preliminary police figures, this incident represents the 41st traffic fatality of 2025, which is fewer than the 44 reported for the same period in 2024.
