A collision on Route 301 claimed the life of Sean Hannon, a 31-year-old from Maryland, on the early morning of September 1st. The incident resulted in two other individuals sustaining serious injuries as well.

Delaware State Police reported the accident occurred approximately at 1:40 a.m. on that date. A Ford Focus, traveling in the incorrect direction (northbound) through southbound lanes, collided head-on with a Kenworth truck near Bunker Hill Road. The driver of the Ford Focus, Sean Hannon, was confirmed deceased at the location.

The operator of the Kenworth truck, a 60-year-old man from Yonkers, New York, and his 62-year-old companion were transported to a nearby hospital due to the severity of their injuries.

Following the crash, authorities closed the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 301 for several hours to allow for investigation. This fatality remains under active investigation by the Dover Police and Delaware State Police. Anyone possessing information is urged to contact Cpl.
