Fatal Tuscaloosa car crash death of Marchema Deshannon Williams
The authorities confirmed on Friday that a 51-year-old female driver, whose identity has been released, lost her life in a serious traffic incident along 15th Street.
Investigators reported that the fatal accident occurred during the early morning hours, approximately 7:15 a.m., in the 1700 block of 15th Street near Queen City Avenue. According to available details, Williams was operating her vehicle southbound on Queen City Avenue and crossing 15th Street when another car, traveling east, struck her on the side. This collision caused her vehicle to veer off the road, cross the curb, and collide with a stationary, unoccupied car parked nearby.
Emergency services transported both drivers to DCH Regional Medical Center; tragically, Williams was pronounced deceased at the facility, while the other driver received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.
Currently, the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit is examining the circumstances of the crash to determine its cause.
