Manlius authorities have confirmed the identity of the man killed in a deadly motorcycle incident on Saturday night. The 38-year-old, named Zachary Eberz, was originally from Camillus. Tragically, the accident took place on Kirkville Road North, close to Green Lakes State Park. According to information released by the Manlius Police Department, Eberz tragically lost control of his motorcycle and drove off the eastbound shoulder.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call received at approximately 10:35 p.m., even though preliminary investigation suggests the collision actually happened around 9 p.m. Medical examiners later pronounced Eberz dead once the first responders arrived at the location.
The ongoing investigation, led by the Manlius Police, has identified excessive speed as a likely key factor contributing to the crash. Respondents noted that both the Kirkville and Fayetteville Fire Departments also provided assistance at the scene. Authorities have not closed the case and are actively appealing to the public for information.
