Annmarie Heaven dies in fatal Viera car crash
Fatal Viera car crash death of Annmarie Heaven
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with the end-of-life expenses for a 46-year-old woman from Holly Hill who was killed in a head-on collision on I-95 in Viera. Friends and family are coordinating the financial effort to cover the costs associated with transporting the deceased back to her homeland in Jamaica.
The tragic incident occurred on September 14th, when Annmarie Heaven and her husband met their demise after being struck by another vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction on the highway. The other driver, a 34-year-old resident of Cocoa, also perished in the accident, which involved multiple vehicles crashing into each other in a domino effect behind the initial impact. Six individuals sustained injuries but were treated for minor issues.
Described as a devoted mother, sister, aunt, wife, and close companion to many, Annmarie Heaven is remembered for her gentle nature. According to the fundraiser’s lead organizer, Alicia Henry from Daytona Beach, her son is currently enrolled in higher education in Jamaica, and she has a young daughter who will now require support.
The funds generated through this online platform are intended to cover the transportation of Heaven’s body to Jamaica for ceremonial purposes. As of now, the total amount raised exceeds $2,345, with a target of raising $14,000 to meet all necessary expenses.
The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting a full investigation into the crash, focusing specifically on why the Cocoa driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, made a u-turn on the interstate and crossed into the southbound lanes at approximately 3:50 a.m. No additional information has been released regarding the circumstances leading to that maneuver.
Annmarie Heaven’s husband has not been identified, and the emotional toll on the community is evident as they rally together to support her loved ones during this difficult time.
