Law enforcement was dispatched to North Plymouth Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m. Law officers arrived at the scene and encountered the 34-year-old individual, Isiah Nesmith, who had sustained at least one injury from a firearm. Medical personnel transported him to a hospital, but he was declared deceased upon arrival.
Authorities are examining the incident and suspect multiple shots were discharged. Police indicated no one has been arrested and invited citizens to provide any footage or details to assist with the probe.
Rochester Police are investigating a murder at the corner involving North Plymouth Avenue and Lyell. They have shut down part of the intersection and secured the Sunoco gas station with barriers. Additional information is expected later on @News_8.
The department is still determining if the victim was a local resident, but they do not think the public is in danger. Sources suggest Mr. Nesmith was the main objective of the attack.
Journalists from News 8 arrived around 9 p.m. and saw caution tape surrounding the intersection and the nearby Sunoco station.
