The Orlando authorities have officially confirmed the identity and the cause of death for a visitor to Epic Universe who passed away following an incident on a roller coaster ride. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the individual was Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, aged 32. This occurred during his participation on the Stardust Racers roller coaster on Wednesday evening. Medical professionals at the hospital later confirmed his death.
The official determination of death was provided by Dr. Joshua Stephany, who serves as the chief medical examiner for Orange and Osceola Counties. His report identified the cause of death as multiple blunt impact injuries. Dr. Stephany further stated that the death was ruled an accident.
Universal Orlando has issued a statement regarding the unfortunate event. The theme park company expressed their profound sorrow over the incident and conveyed their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased guest. In addition, they mentioned their full cooperation with the ongoing investigation conducted by the authorities. As a result of this incident, the Stardust Racers roller coaster attraction has been placed under closure.
