Fatal Lexington County, S.C. car crash death of Marcus Holmes, Jr.

The authorities have confirmed the identity of the man who lost his life in an accident that happened in a specific part of the Midlands area on Wednesday. According to the Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, the 31-year-old Marcus Holmes, Jr., from Gaston, was killed in the incident on U.S. 321 around noon.

Details from the South Carolina Highway Patrol indicate that Holmes was operating a 2020 Nissan Rogue heading south on the highway when it was struck by a Mercedes sedan traveling east on Gardners Terrace Road. The impact caused Holmes’s car to leave the road, resulting in it hitting a ditch, flipping, and then crashing into a utility pole. Medical examiners declared him dead at the scene.

The driver of the involved Mercedes sedan did not sustain any injuries, as per the officials’ reports. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is conducting a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
