Fatal North Hills shooting death of Ilena Arce Navarrete
The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office announced Thursday that the deceased woman found deceased from firearm injuries in North Hills was identified as Ilena Arce Navarrete. This identification was made following an investigation.
According to information provided by the Los Angeles Fire Department, emergency medical personnel pronounced the 38-year-old woman dead at the scene. She was located in a parking area of an apartment complex at 9001 Orion Avenue, situated between Nordoff and Rayen streets.
Law enforcement officials from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Mission Division were dispatched to the address at 10:30 p.m. on Monday due to a reported incident involving discharged gunfire. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the woman already deceased from gunshot trauma.
The official cause of death assigned by the medical examiner’s office was homicide. No further details regarding a suspect were released by authorities.
