Jeremy Ives Dies in Fatal Colorado Springs Hit-and-Run
The individual killed in the tragic traffic incident at the intersection of Highway 24 and 26th Street has been identified as Jeremy Ives, aged 28.
This fatal occurrence happened on September 5th. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, personnel were notified at 10:37 p.m. regarding a collision involving a car and a person walking. Emergency services including the police, Colorado State Patrol, and fire department arrived at the scene. They discovered the pedestrian, Ives, had passed away. The individual operating the suspect vehicle left the area without stopping.
The suspect vehicle and its operator were located later. The driver, identified as Cameron Walsh, who is 59 years old, was apprehended. Walsh faced charges including vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, and operating a vehicle while license suspended.
The Colorado Springs Police Department reported that this is the 41st fatality on the city’s roads this year. This count surpasses the 39 fatalities recorded at the same time last year. In the previous 365 days, the total traffic deaths in Colorado Springs reached 51.
