According to authorities, a 35-year-old woman named Sarah Beth Anderson was struck by a vehicle while walking along the roadside, resulting in her untimely death.
Officials indicate that the incident is currently under investigation. The driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, moving southbound in the innermost lane, was responsible for making contact with Anderson. The point of impact occurred near the Old Iowa Park Road exit.
The scene was quickly secured by law enforcement, leading to the closure of all southbound traffic lanes for several hours while investigations were conducted. Rescue teams responded promptly to the location and transported Anderson to a nearby medical facility, but unfortunately, she did not survive the injuries sustained in the collision.
