Fatal Little Chute car crash death of Ted Heidke

The Little Chute Police Department has officially identified the 82-year-old man who died on September 12 after being hit by a vehicle. This individual was Ted Heidke.

Heidke was involved in the accident at approximately 7:45 a.m. at the corner where East Main Street and Buchanan Street meet in Little Chute. He sustained serious injuries from the collision and was airlifted to a nearby hospital by Theda Clark Air Medical Services. Regrettably, he was pronounced deceased at the medical facility.

As stated in his obituary, Heidke was out for his daily walk when the incident occurred. He maintained an impressive nine-year record of logging 9,000 daily steps. Heidke graduated from Clintonville High School in 1961 and joined the U.S. Army Reserve immediately following his graduation.

“Heidke’s presence always lifted spirits. He frequently displayed a large smile,” the obituary notes. “He took pleasure in card games, cold beverages, travel, following the Badgers, and especially cherished time with loved ones. He frequently demonstrated his love by attending to those he cared for.”

Funeral services were held on September 16 in Little Chute. The obituary reveals that Heidke’s birthday was September 11, the day before his untimely demise.

The female driver from Little Chute involved in the accident is currently working with police authorities regarding the ongoing investigation.
