The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man at The Standard at Champions apartment complex located off FM-1960.

Harris County authorities reported that the body of a young man was discovered at an apartment building on Thursday afternoon. The man, confirmed as Troy Styles, was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot.

Deputies from the sheriff’s office informed ABC13 that they received a 911 call from the victim’s mother and responded to the apartment complex at The Standard at Champions, which is situated at the intersection of FM-1960 and Champions Drive. The mother used her son’s cellphone to trace his location to the complex and found him there.

A sergeant from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office mentioned that gunshots were audible in the vicinity on Wednesday night. He stated that a security guard present at the complex did not observe any suspicious activity but had heard the gunfire and could not locate the missing person.

Investigators have not released details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting. They are actively seeking public assistance in gathering information about the incident.
