Fatal Shenandoah County car crash death of David C. Wright
Virginia authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding a deadly one-car accident that took place on Interstate 81 on Friday afternoon. According to law enforcement, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. Friday on the northbound lanes of I-81 at exit 291 in Shenandoah County.
Initial reports from the Virginia State Police indicate that a large truck was traveling northbound and exited the ramp for exit 291. Unfortunately, the vehicle lost control and veered off the left side of the ramp, subsequently overturning. The truck also collided with a guardrail, as reported by the state police.
The driver, identified as 66-year-old David C. Wright from Crossville, Alabama, was secured with a seatbelt at the time of the incident. Tragically, Mr. Wright did not survive the crash and passed away at the scene. Ongoing investigations are being handled by the Virginia State Police.
