Ryan Simpkins dies in fatal Robeson County car crash
Fatal Robeson County car crash death of Ryan Simpkins
Law enforcement authorities in North Carolina reported a tragic incident earlier this month in Robeson County, where one individual lost their life following a collision. The North Carolina Highway Patrol arrived at the scene shortly after 7:45 a.m. on September 10 to address a multi-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 301 near Green Springs Road.
According to investigators, a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling eastbound on the highway, did not allow the other vehicle to proceed and veered into its path. This action collided with a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was moving southbound. The impact caused the motorcycle rider to lose control, eject from the vehicle, and suffer fatal injuries upon hitting the SUV. Medical examiners declared the motorcyclist deceased at the location and confirmed his identity as Ryan Simpkins, a resident of Fayetteville.
The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe was identified as Amy Revilla, who hails from Raeford. Revilla was formally charged with a lesser offense related to vehicular death. State troopers and transportation officials noted that neither excessive speed nor any signs of impairment were factors in the accident. Simpkins was found to be wearing a helmet that met state safety standards set by the Department of Transportation.
Further details from the North Carolina Department of Transportation emphasized that no evidence pointed to reckless behavior or substance influence in the incident.
