Law enforcement agencies in Las Cruces confirmed that April Preciado, a 27-year-old female, was the individual involved in the deadly accident. The incident occurred on Interstate 10 and resulted in her untimely demise.
According to reports from the New Mexico State Police, the fatal collision took place early Sunday morning approximately at 5:00 AM. Preciado was involved in a pedestrian-vehicle accident when she was hit by a FedEx delivery truck, leading to her immediate death.
Dispatched to the scene after receiving a call about a “pedestrian versus automobile” collision on Eastbound I-10 East near mile marker 136, officials arrived to find the unfortunate circumstances. Details from the State Police indicate that the FedEx vehicle was traveling in the eastbound direction when it made contact with Preciado, who was walking directly in the path of the lanes.
The Medical Investigator’s Office stated that Preciado was pronounced dead on the scene, eliminating the need for further emergency measures. Additionally, the operator of the FedEx truck did not suffer any injuries, and the authorities have noted that this case is currently being looked into to determine all contributing factors.
