Fatal Fresno County drowning death of Azeal Castro Colato.
The Coroner’s Office in Fresno County has officially identified the individual who passed away after an unfortunate incident in the Kings River earlier this month. The deceased is identified as 21-year-old Azeal Castro Colato, a resident of Los Angeles.
According to reports received by law enforcement, a companion of Mr. Colato informed authorities that the young man was engaged in swimming activities in the river when he unexpectedly vanished from sight. This led to the emergency search and rescue operation that followed.
Investigators with the local sheriff’s department indicate that, based on available information, Mr. Colato remained submerged in the water for approximately half an hour to nearly forty-five minutes before being successfully rescued and removed from the Kings River. Unfortunately, medical professionals at the scene confirmed that life could not be saved.
Azeal Castro Colato was pronounced deceased at the location where the rescue concluded.
