A fatal collision occurred on the afternoon of September 28th at approximately 4:20 p.m., near the intersection of North Chicago Avenue and First Street in Boyle Heights, California. Emergency services were dispatched to the location and arrived swiftly.

A pickup truck moving westbound on First Street collided with a parked vehicle, resulting in the death of its front passenger, identified as 24-year-old Eric Ramos. The impact also ejected three women from the pickup truck.

Paramedics pronounced Ramos deceased at the scene. The three women were transported to a trauma center, with one reported in critical condition and the other two in serious condition. Fire rescue personnel used specialized equipment to free one of the injured individuals from the wreckage.

The 25-year-old operator of the pickup truck fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended by police. A witness informed authorities that the truck was being driven in a reckless manner before the accident. The Los Angeles Police Department is continuing its investigation into the cause, including the possibility of impairment by alcohol or drugs.
