Fatal Victorville car crash death of Fidelmar Duran Perez

Emergency responders converged on the scene following a collision on Monday evening. The incident occurred at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Mesa View Drive on September 29, 2025, at approximately 5:16 p.m. Deputies from the local sheriff’s department, along with the Victorville Fire Department and medical response personnel from American Medical Response, arrived at the location after receiving reports of a vehicle-versus-motorcycle crash.

According to findings by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident began when a 76-year-old resident of Victorville, identified as Charles Gilmore, was operating a brown Buick Lacrosse. Gilmore was traveling eastbound on Bear Valley Road in the number one turn lane and attempted a northbound turn onto Mesa View Drive. Simultaneously, a 30-year-old male from Victorville, Fidelmar Duran Perez, was riding a black Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle westbound in the number one lane as he approached the intersection.

The investigation concluded that Gilmore’s turn maneuver placed his vehicle directly in the path of Duran Perez’s motorcycle. This led to the motorcycle colliding with the side of Gilmore’s car. Duran Perez suffered significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Gilmore remained at the site and provided information to the investigators.

The Major Accident Investigation Team took over the case and is looking into the incident. Bear Valley Road and Mesa View Drive were shut down for traffic for about four hours due to the crash. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information about the accident to contact Deputy J. Stroik or Deputy R. Smith at the Victorville Police Station using the number (760) 241-2911.
