According to information provided by the Bakersfield Police Department, emergency services were dispatched to the area located at the junction where South Union Avenue meets Welch Avenue on the evening of September 21, 2025, at approximately 6:07 p.m. The initial reason for the call was a reported vehicular accident between a heavy-duty semi-trailer truck and a motorcycle.
Upon their arrival at the scene, responding officers discovered the operator of the motorcycle, later confirmed by authorities to be Isaac Ernesto Alvarado, sustaining critical injuries as a result of the impact.
Further details regarding the incident were shared, noting that Alvarado was observed moving in the westbound direction along Welch Avenue, while the large truck was proceeding in the northbound direction on South Union Avenue at the time of the unfortunate event.
