Fatal MORGAN COUNTY car crash death of Michaela G. Jefferson
Morgan County authorities announced on Tuesday afternoon the identity of a woman killed Monday during a serious incident on U.S. 231. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that 27-year-old Michaela G. Jefferson was the person who died.
According to reports, Jefferson’s 2007 Suzuki V-Strom motorcycle collided with another vehicle at approximately 6:25 a.m. on Monday, September 29. Following the initial impact, the motorcycle reportedly caught fire. Emergency personnel transported Jefferson to Huntsville Hospital, but her condition deteriorated, resulting in her death due to the severity of her injuries.
Law enforcement officials are currently examining the situation to determine the full details surrounding the collision. The closure of U.S. 231 near Fields Road was lifted at 10:17 a.m. on Monday.
