Fatal car crash deaths of Vanessa Knowles, Donnie Briggs, and Darla Parris
The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirms a serious multi-vehicle collision on I-55 south of Interstate 50 occurred on Sunday, September 28th. This incident resulted in the loss of three lives.
The victims have been identified through the Medical Examiner’s Office as:
* Vanessa Knowles, aged 63, from Memphis, Tennessee
* Donnie Briggs, aged 66, from Memphis, Tennessee
* Darla Parris, aged 53, from Hillsboro, Missouri
According to the state patrol report, the crash took place before 3:30 p.m. involving eight vehicles. An out-of-state driver, identified as 45-year-old Richard Holden from Greensburg, Louisiana, was operating a tractor-trailer at the time. Patrol officials stated Holden lost focus on the slow-moving traffic, causing his vehicle to hit the rear of a Toyota Camry.
The accident led to injuries for five additional people. Richard Holden has been detained at the Jefferson County Jail and faces charges of involuntary manslaughter.
