Edinburg city officials confirmed Wednesday that a 35-year-old McAllen man, identified as Adrian Mario Garza, died following a Tuesday morning accident. Garza was hospitalized after the collision that also involved a black Chevrolet Malibu. The Edinburg spokesperson stated Garza succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Trenton and McColl roads. According to an official news release, the Malibu driver failed to yield the right of way while making a turn on McColl Road. This resulted in the motorcycle colliding with the vehicle traveling east on Trenton Road.
When asked about potential charges, an Edinburg representative indicated the investigation into the crash is still ongoing. The city spokesperson did not provide further details regarding the driver’s possible legal consequences. Law enforcement continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
