Two Men Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide After Dispute Over Family Home Sale

Fatal New York City Murder-Suicide Death of Two Deceased Men

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to People magazine that officers responded to a residence in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens on the night of October 3rd, receiving reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, police found two men, aged 37 and 41, both with gunshot wounds to the head. Emergency medical services pronounced the younger man deceased at the scene, while the older man was transported to a hospital where doctors later confirmed his death. A weapon was located near the older man by the police.

Information gathered by news outlets indicates the two men were cousins, involved in a conflict concerning the sale of their family’s house and the division of proceeds. The two-bedroom Queens property had been listed for approximately one month at an asking price of $600,000.

A relative, who requested anonymity, told the press the older man had granted his younger cousin authority to handle the house sale due to the cousin’s real estate experience. However, the two reportedly argued about the transaction.

According to the uncle, who resides in the basement apartment attached to the house, he believes the shooter was present with his cousin’s body for several hours before taking his own life. The uncle discovered the situation after his nephew’s partner mentioned not having heard from the younger man since early morning.

A neighbor reported discovering the uncle’s vehicle present at the house unexpectedly early. The uncle and the partner, concerned for the shooter’s safety, entered the dark house and found the younger victim’s body upon turning on the light. They subsequently exited the property just before the second gunshot, fired by the shooter who then took his own life.
