Carolyn Bosher, a 57-year-old woman, met her demise in Kingman, Arizona, due to a violent killing. Authorities uncovered her remains inside a cardboard box in the desert region near Kingman sometime during the early days of September. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office was notified on the 5th of September after a resident observed what appeared to be an unusual parcel in a wash, close to Highway 93.
Carolyn Bosher is the identified victim. Her sibling, Suzanne Staton, shared that Carolyn had two adult sons who were the product of a previous marriage. Even though the murder transpired last month, the authorities have only recently made the public aware of the situation. Suzanne Staton first learned about her sister through news reports. The news of Carolyn’s murder and the subsequent details filled Staton with shock.
“I find it hard to believe that this is really happening to her,” Suzanne Staton expressed her disbelief. For Suzanne, her grief is layered. She recalled that the Carolyn she knew as a child was a victim of substance abuse for a long time. Now, her older sister is gone forever.
“I will miss the Carolyn from before the addiction, the one who created beautiful things,” Suzanne recalled fondly. Their most cherished memories together were from their childhood. Suzanne remembered her sister as a gifted artist and a gifted storyteller.
“She was wonderfully creative, and her writing was exceptionally beautiful,” Suzanne remarked. Carolyn Bosher faced significant hardships, including struggles with mental illness and substance abuse. She was often a transient figure in Las Vegas, frequently moving between jail facilities and various rehabilitation programs, but she never achieved sustained sobriety. The situation worsened after their mother’s death eight years ago.
“Though we didn’t maintain the best relationship at times, I remember the happy times before everything changed,” Suzanne shared. She recalled their last telephone conversation, which took place about seven months ago.
“She said, ‘I love you, my snooze button, sister,’ using the pet name she called me. I just told her I loved her back and told her to be careful,” Suzanne said. That final exchange was ominous. Suzanne was informed that her sister’s body had been dismembered.
“I can’t fathom her fear. Regardless of the path she chose, no one deserves to be murdered, let alone mutilated,” Suzanne conveyed her profound sorrow. The deputies suspect the murder occurred elsewhere. Carolyn was arrested in Las Vegas just six days before she was found, this time for a charge of indecent exposure. Someone discovered her body over 100 miles away in Kingman.
“I have so many unanswered questions, like how did she get so far away?” Suzanne lamented. While the hunt for the suspect continues, Suzanne finds some solace in the knowledge that her sister is no longer suffering.
“I truly hope her killer is found so that she can find some peace,” Suzanne expressed. The deputies reported that the night before the body was found, someone observed a car with its trunk open in the area, but the darkness prevented clear identification of the situation.
