South Carolina law enforcement reported a fatal accident in Aiken County, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. The collision occurred approximately at 1:10 p.m. on Wagener Road (State Highway 4) in the vicinity of Flowing Well Road.

Highway Patrol Corporal David Jones stated that two pickup trucks were involved in the incident while traveling east on Wagener Road. According to initial reports, the driver of the 2013 Chevrolet attempted to pass the 1991 GMC truck ahead. This maneuver reportedly went awry, leading to the Chevrolet striking the smaller truck.

Both vehicles subsequently left the roadway and landed in a nearby pond. County Coroner Darryl Ables confirmed that 21-year-old Jacob Langley, identified as the operator of the 1991 GMC, did not survive the impact. The occupants of the 2013 Chevrolet were transported to a regional medical facility for treatment.

The ongoing crash investigation is being conducted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Further details regarding the incident are expected to be released as the official inquiry continues.
