Fatal Butte car crash death of Jennifer Lynne Rautio

Official identification of the woman killed on Montana’s Interstate 15 was provided by Butte-Silver Bow’s Deputy Coroner, Jason Parish, who confirmed her identity as Jennifer Lynne Rautio, a 49-year-old local resident.

The Montana Highway Patrol reported that the incident began around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday. Rautio was traveling south on I-15 when her truck lost control and headed off the roadway. The patrol stated that the vehicle subsequently impacted a delineator post and turned over as a result of this deviation.

According to the information gathered by the MHP, authorities noted that Rautio was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. This lack of restraint likely contributed to her being thrown from the vehicle during the accident.

The investigation into the cause of the crash concluded that neither alcohol, drugs, nor excessive speed were identified as contributing factors.
