Fatal Huntington Beach collision death of Martin Ramirez Jr.
The Huntington Beach Police Department is continuing its investigation into the fatal collision Friday involving a pedestrian and a man who was riding a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle. According to authorities, officers from the police department arrived at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Ellis Avenue at 8:27 p.m. on Thursday to find the driver of the motorcycle, 45-year-old Martin Ramirez Jr. of Los Angeles, and the pedestrian, 46-year-old Nicholas Howell of Huntington Beach, unresponsive in the roadway.
Preliminary investigation reports indicate the Harley-Davidson was traveling southbound on Beach Boulevard when the pedestrian crossed outside a designated crosswalk, leading to the collision. Paramedics from the Huntington Beach Fire Department arrived at the scene and pronounced both victims deceased. Huntington Beach police spokesperson Corbin Carson stated the investigation is ongoing, and it is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
