Fatal Columbus shooting death of William Javon Tatum
A man in Columbus was killed in a shooting that happened late on Friday evening. The incident occurred around nine o’clock in the evening on October 10th, 2025, in the Stone Creek subdivision, specifically within the 5000 block of Stone Park Drive, located off Warm Springs Road.
The victim, identified as William Javon Tatum, who was 40 years old, was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Campus hospital. According to the Muscogee County Coroner, Buddy Bryan, Mr. Tatum was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arriving, at around nine thirty-eight in the evening.
Investigators at the crime scene noted shell casings and found damage to an SUV, with at least one window reported to be shattered.
