New York State Police officially recognized the individual involved in the recent fatal accident on I-787, which took place in Albany on Sunday. No formal charges or arrests have been confirmed by Monday afternoon.
The collision, described as a head-on incident, happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. in the northbound direction near exit 2. According to the police report, the driver of the northbound vehicle was identified as Eric Hurley from Albany and was 38 years old. The authorities stated that he suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver who was going the wrong way in the accident received medical attention and was transported to Albany Medical Center with minor injuries that do not require intensive care. As of Monday, this individual is still under observation at the hospital.
State Police have mentioned that they are still examining the details of the incident. Additionally, they announced on Monday that they had arrested a woman from Albany in connection with another crash that occurred on I-787 on Sunday, which resulted in two fatalities.
