A catastrophic collision on the roads of Lackawannock Township resulted in three fatalities Friday night. Emergency services responded to the scene after reports of a serious accident.

Officials confirmed the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Shenango Township Fire Chief’s office shared this information through a social media post. They also reported that West Middlesex Road was temporarily closed due to the accident.

The Pennsylvania State Police issued a press release detailing the events. The agency stated that a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette, being operated by 21-year-old Jacob Leathe, collided with a 2025 Toyota Tacoma. This truck was driven by a 76-year-old man named Larry Miller.

According to troopers, the Corvette driver was going too fast. After the initial impact, the vehicle lost control. It then left the roadway, crashed into an embankment, and flipped multiple times. The car ended up in the middle of the street again.

The police statement identified both occupants of the Corvette. 19-year-old Urie Byler was a passenger. Both Leathe and Byler were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Miller and his 76-year-old passenger, Cynthia Miller, were transported to a hospital. Despite receiving treatment, both later succumbed to their injuries.
