A man from Tuscaloosa County has tragically lost his life following injuries sustained in a severe road traffic incident over the weekend. The accident occurred on Saturday evening shortly before 8 p.m. at the junction of Crescent Ridge Road and Sixth Street East. Law enforcement reports indicate that the deceased, Curtis Waylon Duco, who was 23 years old, was operating a motorcycle at the time of the collision. His motorcycle struck a vehicle identified as a Toyota Corolla, and both cars subsequently caught fire. A deputy from the Tuscaloosa County sheriff’s office arrived at the scene and provided emergency assistance to those involved. Duco was then transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment, but his condition was ultimately fatal, leading to his death on Monday. The Tuscaloosa County police department’s specialized traffic homicide investigation division is now examining the circumstances surrounding this fatal incident, which has resulted in a death and involved significant damage.
