Law enforcement authorities confirmed that an individual operating an electric bicycle was involved in a fatal collision in Mesquite. The unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday morning, the 4th of October, just before 8 a.m., at the junction where Oasis Boulevard meets Ivy Lee Crest. Police identified the deceased as James Lindsey Jackson, a 67-year-old resident of Evanston, Wyoming, who was riding the e-bike at the time. He was transported to a nearby medical facility in critical condition after the accident, but his condition did not improve. Tragically, several days later, the hospital pronounced him dead.

Investigators from the Nevada State Police explained that the motorist driving the sedan and the e-bike rider were initially moving in different lanes within the roundabout at the intersection. However, when the e-bike rider crossed into the sedan’s path, the collision resulted in the rider being thrown from the bicycle and sustaining severe injuries.

To date, the Southern Command region of the Nevada State Police has examined 48 fatal crashes, leading to 49 fatalities across the state. Mesquite, located roughly 82 miles northeast of Las Vegas, is the scene of this latest tragic event.
