Fatal car crash death of Jason Hutton west of Palmdale
On Thursday, authorities from the California Highway Patrol provided additional details regarding a deadly automobile accident that occurred west of Palmdale, claiming the life of a 40-year-old individual.
Investigators reported that the incident took place at approximately 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday at the busy intersection where East Palmdale Boulevard meets 150th Street East, as confirmed by CHP spokesperson Jordon Church.
Initial findings from the ongoing probe suggest that Jason Hutton, a 40-year-old man from Palmdale, was operating a 2004 Honda Civic and was traveling southbound on 150th Street East, heading toward Palmdale Boulevard. At that moment, he attempted a left turn, which unfortunately placed his vehicle directly in the path of a westbound 2010 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck being driven by a 35-year-old man from Lancaster.
According to statements released by Church, the front portion of the pickup truck made contact with the side of the Honda Civic, and this collision led to immediately fatal injuries for Mr. Hutton.
The driver of the Toyota pickup was transported to Palmdale Regional Medical Center, where medical staff determined that he suffered only moderately severe injuries.
The CHP cordoned off the intersection for approximately two hours to conduct their thorough investigation into the incident.
