EAST HARTFORD authorities have confirmed that Pearl Lukas, a local resident aged 80, was the pedestrian involved in the fatal incident occurring Thursday morning in East Hartford. Police have officially identified the individual struck and killed as Pearl Lukas.
The collision happened at approximately 5:15 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Silver Lane and Forbes Street. According to East Hartford police, emergency services personnel responded to the scene after receiving reports of a pedestrian accident.
When officers arrived, they found Ms. Lukas lying on the roadway. Medical professionals confirmed her death at the scene.
The driver involved remained with the vehicle and was providing information to the responding officers at the time of the report. The accident occurred in close proximity to Sunset Ridge School, a local middle school.
