Fatal Abilene shooting death of Scott Bartlett
The Abilene Police Department informed the public on Thursday that 42-year-old Scott Bartlett, a resident of Abilene, was the person killed in a shooting that happened Wednesday night. Authorities are actively seeking individuals they believe are responsible.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 1200 block of Lillius Street around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday because someone reported a wounded person. When the officers arrived, they discovered Bartlett inside his home and found that he had been shot.
Emergency medical services provided initial treatment at the scene before transporting Bartlett to Hendrick Medical Center. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated at the hospital, and he passed away there.
The Abilene Police Department is urging residents to come forward with any information regarding the shooting incident. Tips can be provided anonymously by calling Abilene Crime Stoppers at 325-676-TIPS (8477). Those who offer useful information may be eligible for a reward.
