Fatal Roseville incident death of Troy Smithson
According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the man identified as Troy Smithson was discovered deceased near an adult tricycle on Tuesday morning in Roseville.
He was found around 10:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Moonraker Lane, the sheriff’s office reported.
A 911 caller stated that Smithson was found unconscious by their property, with the unconventional bicycle moved to the front lawn, the Roseville Police Department added.
When responding officers arrived, they confirmed that he had died.
Investigators suggest that Smithson may have been attempting to take the tricycle, and his personal vehicle was stationed several blocks distant, with no known associations to that community.
No witnesses were reported for the event, and an examination is being handled in partnership with the Placer County Coroner’s Office.
As of Thursday morning, the medical explanation for his demise was still uncertain.
