Fatal Winchester shooting death of Ava Brantley and Tyler Snowden
Winchester law enforcement responded to shots fired around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 17th, near the 100 block of Westside Drive. Police Chief Travis Thompson confirmed two people were shot and killed in the incident.
Preliminary investigations by the Winchester Police Department identified the victims as 35-year-old Ava Brantley, originally from Winchester, and 38-year-old Tyler Snowden from Irvine. It is reported that Brantley’s mother discovered the victims and contacted police authorities.
Investigators noted that a neighbor’s doorbell camera recorded the gunfire. A search warrant was sought for Snowden’s vehicle, which was located near the scene. Inside Snowden’s Irvine residence, authorities reportedly found a suicide note.
According to the ongoing probe, Tyler Snowden shot Ava Brantley sometime after 5 a.m. on Friday before turning the weapon on himself. The relationship between the deceased is described by authorities as having been a romantic one.
A local resident, Joshua Bodo, who has lived on Westside Drive for several years, expressed concern about the incident. He stated the neighborhood was typically quiet and emphasized the importance of community vigilance.
Both Ava Brantley and Tyler Snowden’s bodies were transported to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s office in Frankfort for autopsy procedures. The official investigation into the deaths remains active.
