Fatal Mabank shooting death of Christopher Kyle Reid Jr.

The authorities have confirmed that five people were killed in a triple homicide incident in the East Texas town of Mabank. The main suspect in these shootings is Christopher Kyle Reid Jr., who is currently in critical condition at a hospital in Dallas.

According to the investigation, Reid was responsible for the fatal shootings before he crashed his vehicle into a Buc-ee’s store in Ennis, causing injuries to one woman, and subsequently shot himself. This sequence of events is what led to the multiple fatalities.

Emergency responders were dispatched before dawn on Friday to a house located in the Cedar Creek Cove subdivision. The initial attack resulted in the deaths of three individuals: a 51-year-old woman named Kimberly Simpson, a 72-year-old woman named Connie Patrick, and a 57-year-old man named Ronny Hammonds. All three victims sustained injuries caused by gunshots, along with other types of trauma for some.

Two other individuals were taken to a hospital in Tyler following the incident. A 24-year-old man named Colton Reid, who is related to the suspect, was reported to be in stable condition, while a 70-year-old man named Henry Hopgood was in critical condition. Both were being treated at a medical facility.

The relationships between the deceased and the suspect have not been officially confirmed by the authorities. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office stated that no information regarding family ties has been released.

Separately, the Ennis Police Department reported that Reid crashed his minivan around early morning hours at a Buc-ee’s location. The vehicle collision trapped a woman in her 30s, who was from Oklahoma, against a display inside the store. She received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. Reid then shot himself.
