The fatal Mabank shooting took the lives of Kimberly Simpson, Connie Patrick, and Ronny Hammonds.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed three fatalities and two injuries resulting from a shooting in Mabank. The incident occurred early Friday morning, around 2:30 a.m., at a residence in the Cedar Creek Cove subdivision.
According to authorities, Kimberly Simpson, aged 51, and Connie Patrick, aged 72, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Ronny Hammonds, 57, was also found deceased at the location. He displayed signs of a gunshot wound, blunt force trauma, and multiple stab wounds.
Two individuals sustained injuries during the Mabank shooting. Colton Reid, 24, and Henry Hopgood, 70, were transported to a hospital. The sheriff’s office reported that Reid’s condition is described as stable, while Hopgood remains in critical condition.
Further details surrounding the fatal Mabank shooting emerged later that morning. Approximately 5 a.m., Christopher Kyle Reid Jr., identified as the suspect, drove a vehicle into a nearby Bucc-ee’s in Ennis. A pedestrian was reportedly struck during the collision.
Shortly after, the suspect allegedly shot himself in the head. Reid Jr., 29, was taken to a medical facility but remains in critical condition.
The sheriff’s office stated that Reid Jr. had some connection to the victims, though the specific nature of this relationship has not been officially confirmed.
