Fatal northwest Harris County car crash death of Steven Marks
A Harris County law enforcement official reported that a postal employee has died and a driver is under custody after a serious incident on Antoine Drive in the northwest part of Harris County.
The fatal collision is connected to a car accident. It took place on Saturday morning in the 11700 block of Antoine, situated close to West Greens Road.
According to authorities, the accident involved a postal service vehicle and a pickup truck. The person operating the postal vehicle was later confirmed to be Steven Marks, who was 58 years of age. He was transported to a medical facility but was ultimately pronounced deceased.
Sources at the scene reported that the pickup truck driver had involvement in a prior minor accident on Antoine and Veterans Memorial Drive. This individual was believed to be speeding and subsequently lost control, resulting in a collision with the postal truck from behind.
An officer present at the site stated that the pickup driver, identified as Jose Romero, who is 48 years old, completed a sobriety examination where indications of being under the influence were present.
The local District Attorney’s office has been notified, and they have taken into account charges of vehicular assault due to intoxication.
