Fatal Southeast Portland shooting death of Michael Pena-Tapia
Law enforcement officials announced on Tuesday that Michael Pena-Tapia, a 20-year-old resident of Woodburn, was killed in a shooting incident that took place in Southeast Portland on Saturday. According to a statement released by the Portland Police Bureau, Pena-Tapia was shot approximately at 10 a.m. near the intersection of Southeast 17th Avenue and Harold Street.
Emergency services discovered Pena-Tapia lifeless on the sidewalk upon their arrival at the location. The medical examiner’s office has officially classified the death as a homicide. The individual or individuals responsible for firing the weapon at Pena-Tapia managed to escape before the arrival of the police officers. As of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with this case. Authorities are actively soliciting information from the public regarding the incident.
