Responding officers arrived at the scene of the collision on State Road shortly after 8:30 a.m. Friday. According to police reports, the Honda Civic had veered across the double-yellow dividing line before colliding head-on with a Jeep. Upon their arrival, authorities found the Civic driver, identified as Matthew Wilson, unconscious and trapped within the vehicle. Medical examiners confirmed his death at the scene.

Wilson was an 18-year-old senior at Cove School in Plymouth, having recently turned 18 that month. His mother shared that he was known for his helpful nature, often stopping to assist strangers. The 16-year-old passenger in the Civic and the Jeep’s driver were transported to medical facilities with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

State Road remained closed for several hours following the incident as accident investigators gathered evidence and cleared the scene. No other details regarding the cause of the crash were immediately released by authorities.
