The Rock County Medical Examiner’s office has officially confirmed the identity of the 56-year-old Whitewater resident who passed away in a serious accident. This incident occurred on Monday morning within the Town of Lima.
The collision was a direct impact between two vehicles. Ms. Apgar was operating a car that was heading west on E County Highway N. At the same time, a 53-year-old man from Janesville was driving an SUV in the opposite direction. Tragically, Ms. Apgar veered into the eastbound lane, resulting in a severe frontal crash. Emergency services were alerted at approximately 8 a.m.
Both individuals involved were buckled into their seats. However, the outcome was tragic for Ms. Apgar, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver sustained minor injuries and received prompt medical attention, but there was no need for intensive care. Further examination by the medical examiner’s office on Monday solidified the cause of death, linking it directly to the trauma from the accident.
As of Friday afternoon, additional forensic tests were in progress. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the medical examiner’s department, is continuing to probe the circumstances of this unfortunate event.
