Fatal Louisville shooting death of Andrew Cochran
A shooting incident occurred at a local establishment in the Russell neighborhood on October 25th. Louisville law enforcement arrived at the scene shortly after 11:45 p.m. on Saturday. They located an injured individual near the premises of Club Cedar, situated at the intersection of 26th Street and Cedar Street. Medical personnel transported the wounded person to the University of Louisville Hospital, but they were unable to save his life.
The identity of the deceased was confirmed by the victim’s spouse. The individual, identified as Andrew Cochran, was 45 years old. An individual residing nearby chose to speak with the news outlet anonymously. She stated she departed the vicinity of 26th and Cedar Street just before the shooting incident took place. She expressed relief at having left the area.
Commenting on the situation, this neighbor said, “Bullets fly in all directions, anywhere. It’s not just about being right there; something could have easily happened to me.” She added that she was accustomed to hearing about situations like the recent shooting.
She further remarked about the safety concerns in the area, “Living here is not safe. It’s extremely dangerous, particularly for women and children as I previously mentioned. We can’t even let our kids play outside. Some days, we can’t even walk to the store.”
Police discovered Andrew Cochran’s body in the parking area of the club. This particular lot is named in honor of Earl Crawford, who was fatally shot in the same location on November 17th, 2024.
