Fatal Edinburg car crash death of Juan Antonio Villasana
Law enforcement authorities in Texas are examining a nighttime collision that claimed the life of a 25-year-old man from Edinburg. The deceased has been identified as Juan Antonio Villasana.
Initial reports indicate the incident took place around 8:33 p.m. on a stretch of east Ingle Road located north of Jasman Road in Edinburg. According to information released by the Texas Department of Public Safety, preliminary findings suggest the accident involved a Can-Am Maverick all-terrain vehicle, carrying a male driver and Juan Antonio Villasana as the passenger. Another vehicle, a Nissan Kicks driven by a single male, was also involved and was following behind the all-terrain vehicle on the same roadway.
The official statement from authorities indicates that the driver of the Nissan Kicks attempted to overtake the slower-moving all-terrain vehicle. However, this maneuver resulted in a collision when the car passed on the left side of the off-road vehicle.
Emergency medical services personnel arrived at the scene to provide initial treatment to both drivers involved in the crash. Neither individual sustained injuries severe enough to require hospital transport. Tragically, despite the prompt medical attention, Juan Antonio Villasana succumbed to his injuries at the location of the accident. The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed they are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
