Rosetta Mundt dies in fatal Ogden car crash
Fatal Ogden car crash death of Rosetta Mundt
Ogden authorities confirmed on Monday evening that a 65-year-old resident of Gates had died following a multiple vehicle collision in Ogden. Details of the accident indicate that Rosetta Mundt was a passenger in the vehicle operated by her son, Noah Mundt.
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. The crash happened on Spencerport Road when, according to Ogden Police Chief Travis Gray, Noah Mundt, who was 25 and from Brighton, was driving westbound. Gray stated that his car was struck from behind by an eastbound Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) as the driver attempted to turn onto Sias Lane.
Both Rosetta Mundt and her 25-year-old son, Noah Mundt, were involved in the collision and suffered injuries requiring medical attention. Both were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Tragically, Rosetta Mundt was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the accident.
Injuries sustained by Noah Mundt and the driver of the eastbound SUV, a 17-year-old male from Spencerport operating a vehicle occupied solely by himself, were reported by officials. Gray indicated these injuries were not considered immediately life-threatening.
Ogden law enforcement is pursuing a full investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal collision. Gray identified failure to yield the right of way as a “primary contributing factor” in the incident. Crucially, preliminary findings suggest that substances including drugs and alcohol were not involved in the crash.
