Fatal Abbotsford shooting death of Darshan Singh Sahsi

A notable Abbotsford, British Columbia, businessman has been confirmed as the victim killed in a deadly shooting within the city on Monday.

Darshan Singh Sahsi, aged 68, was the president of Canam International. His son, Arpan, described his company as one of the world’s most significant clothing recyclers.

Arpan identified his father as the murdered person. Abbotsford Police Department Sgt. Paul Walker stated that police indicate the homicide happened nearby the intersection of Ridgeview and Summit drives, just before 9:30 a.m.

Walker mentioned they found a man inside a vehicle on the residential street. The man had fatal gunshot wounds.

“Even though first responders conducted life-saving actions at the location, the individual eventually passed away,” Walker stated. “We extend our condolences to the man’s friends and family.”

Arpan shared that his father, hailing from India’s Punjab state, initially worked as a farmer. He later worked on a cruise ship before arriving in Canada.

Arpan noted that his father was well-regarded locally. He added that the family has received many touching messages of encouragement.
